Merger of NEET and JEE exam into CUET possible?

            New Delhi Date 12 - According to the news from UGC, it is trying to merge the NEET and JEE exam into CUET exam. This is because for admision to medical stream NEET exam is taken which checks the talent of student in Physics, Chemistry and Biology whereas for Engineering JEE exam is take which checks the student for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. While newly intorduced CUET exam cover all these subeject. So according to UGC why the student should face the exam for the same subject again and again. So one nation one entrance is the logic behind the merger of the examination. 

        National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET and Joint Entrance Examination, JEE might become a thing of the past. If the latest proposal sent out by University Grants Commission has to be considered, NEET, JEE Main exams might be merged with the recently launched Common University Entrance Test, CUET, making CUET a one entrance test for all. It will reduce student's burden of taking multiple entrance examinations for higher education. 

        The government is trying to introduce the exam as early as possible, as say by the next year. All these three major exams are conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). The students appearing for these examinations are common. That's why UGC is trying to use CUET scores alone for the admission to multiple disciplines. 

    UGC will form a committee, for giving recommendations for a single exam.
